What was your inspiration?
My fabric stash is usually where I start. I had been hoarding, I mean saving, this Amy Butler fabric and was inspired to turn it into a late sumer frock.
What are you most proud of?
How well it goes with accessories I already own!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It is super easy. I didn't use a pattern. Just cut off the bottom of the tank top and allow for enough fabric to gather around waist. I sewed elastic to the fabric by stretching it as I sewed to create a gathered edge. Then attach that waist (right sides together) to the bottom of the tank. It helps to have a wide belt to hid the seam. Finally, hem the bottom and you have a new dress!
