What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make a Christmas present for my son. I made the quilt top in the Quick Strip Paper Piecing course.

What are you most proud of?

I thought about the things my son is passionate about before I made this quilt. He loves to cook, so I chose the kiwi and strawberry border. He has two dogs, so when I quilted the stars, I wanted to quilt something that I could quilt a dog in the center. He also is in a band, so I wanted something with that. That is why I quilted the treble clefs in the border. I got this finished and sent to him in time for Christmas.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun! You can do anything you want to do if you just try it. The thing that keeps us from doing things is fear. If we just jump in and try those things, we will be amazed at what we can accomplish.
