What materials did you use? 1 layer cake, moda Masion de Garance, fabric for back, 100% cotton batting, King Tut thread. This is a large block quilt that was easy to piece. My purpose was to throw together something so I could learn to free hand on the long arm machine. Piecing is easy, longarm is more advanced.

What are you most proud of? The long arm didn't beat me! I am very pleased that I was able to accomplish this freehand design on my first try. I will still need to work at other types of patterns.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take a long arm class, be daring, and don't be afraid to fail. That is why I used a simple pattern for my first try. I didn't want to be too invested in a quilt that I might mess up. But, it is important to use good fabric and thread. So, if money is an issue, stay small and do a long arm sampler so you can get the hang of it.
