Jelly roll.

What was your inspiration?

This quilt is a gift to my mother-in-law who lives in Texas, when I saw that the Magic Jelly Roll Quilt has this block and it fits in the geographic location.

What are you most proud of?

To me, this is not an easy block to make, especially when I tried to trim the "Pizza" pieces, it was a challenge. Because the block size I made was smaller then what is on the instruction sheet, so I have to be creative on my boarders to fit my quilt size. I'm proud of what I've achieved; also I'm very happy with all the pretty decorative stitches that I added to decorate my quilt.

Very nice color combination and great job constructing the Lone Star - one of my favorites!

Very lovely! And quite seasonal. It hasn't been an easy one for me either. I'm still plugging away having ripped out more than once! May have to change to other fabric as I don't have any extra of what I started with. I'm sure your mother-in-law will cherish this!

I really like the colors and the Texas star has always been one of my favorites. What size is this quilt?

One good idea is to go to your favorite quilt shop and usually they will help you find fabric to compliment your jelly roll fabrics.

Hi, like Darch422 said, bring your own fabric and go to either quilt shop or other store (like JoAnn or Hancock fabric) and trying to matching them. Ms. Einmo told me to "audition" your fabric, remember to bring your camera or phone, match them, take a picture, then look at the picture and pick and choose. I really enjoy the process of "audition" my fabric and always amazed by what the difference by just looking at them and looking at the picture. Good luck!
