Quilting: Lollipop Tumbler Crib Quilt

Lollipop Tumbler Crib Quilt

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Retro / Vintage

Materials

Quilt front: 100% cotton fabrics Quilt back: 100% cotton flannel Quilt Batting: 100% polyester, high loft

What was your inspiration?

I loved the fabric collection and thought it would make a good child's quilt. I choose the tumbler pattern because it is more "relaxed patchwork" suitable for a child.

What are you most proud of?

It looks just as nice finished as I envisioned it in my head.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Buy a template for the tumbler block sized for a 5" charm pack. It makes the world of difference in cutting.

I made a queen size tumbler this past winter and bought the ACCUQUILT cutter and plate and loved how easy the peices were to sew, Expensive to buy the cutting dies, but I work alot and want to quilt and be creative as I'm getting older. I make big quilts. That one was 84 x 95. Yours is wonderful and great to make a flannel one.

I just got my tumbler template out last weekend and got some laid out and a few sewn. I actually had some strips left over from jelly rolls that were sewn together that I am using up with this tumbler pattern. I have a ton of charm packs so that is exciting to have that available next!!! You did a wonderful job, Thanks for sharing!!

I bought a plastic template and a charm pack from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I used up the charm pack and just added borders. I love this template and have used it to make all sorts of kids quilts.

This is really pretty! I just spent the weekend camping and cutting out the 3 inch tumblers with the AccuQuilt Go Cutter. I just knew I would have enough for a king size quilt, but i never dreamed how many it would take so I guess I am going to make a lap quilt. I had calico sample pieces I purchased from Springs Mills Outlet store approximately 30 years ago. I just kept holding on to them hoping I would one day learn to quilt. Now that I have learned I guess I can finally use them.

It is Moda's Lollipop charm pack. I love how neutral it is, it could work for a boy or a girl.
