What was your inspiration?
Bec asked me to guest blog for her as part of her Quilt Class 101 series of tutorials. She said that I was the "queen of log cabins" and asked that I do a tutorial for a traditional log cabin block so I went for it! My fabric choices were inspired by the off-centre fussy cut block.
What are you most proud of?
My fabric choices! I think this traditional block is made even more fun by the fabrics that I chose.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is not a difficult block by any means, but your fabric selections can really make it. Select your favourite fabrics but don't be worried over being hindered by overly matchy-matchy fabrics or "perfection" - the log cabin really shines with unexpected and fun choices.
