What was your inspiration?
My grand-daughter saw this shrug made-up in a knitting store and wanted one. After making her one, she just loved it, I decided to knit more. They only take 250 yards for a size 6. They are great for summer to wear over a sundress, with jeans; possibilities are endless. My grand-daughter slept with hers for the three nights - she didn't want to take it off.
What are you most proud of?
Making an outfit for my grand-daughter that she would really love and wear over and over again. I had fun trying different yarns with this pattern.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If a child likes the outfit, your time in knitting it will not be wasted. All the little girls I know wear this type of shrug. It does pay to trust in a child's choice of wardrobe, otherwise you will be wasting your time on something they will never wear.
