Combination Black Microsuede and Kitty Kat theme Cotton Print, Black 7" Zipper.
What was your inspiration?
It was fun, fun, using combination of fabrics to sew these cute little girl purses.
I free motion quilted the black microsuede and the cotton print kitty fabric to foundation fabric of polar fleece. The quilted fabrics add shape and durability.
The black microsuede makes the purse super-soft to the touch. The lining is the same kitty cotton print.
What are you most proud of?
Before construction, I machine embroidered the little girls' names to the black microsuede.
Combine novelty print with solid fabric to make carrying straps. Make straps a little longer and knot them at the top. As the little girl gets older and taller, she make get some extended use out of the purse by un-doing the knot.
Zippers add function, and are fun for even the littlest of gals to operate.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
There are so many cute cotton prints. Try pairing them with a solid for contrast.
