Style: Whimsical, Cute
Materials
Fun fur, flannel, velour, broadcloth, polyester fibrefill
What was your inspiration?
I was asked to make the costume for a 3rd grader. She needed it for school to be a mascot.
What are you most proud of?
I challenged myself to try something new and I think it turned out really well.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make sure to baste the zipper first or use a glue stick to tack it down temporarily. Use a piece of scotch tape as a guide when sewing in the zipper (center it over the zipper and then stitch around it) so that you get a nice, straight seam. The materials I used were different than what were suggested on the pattern because of the use of the costume so I would advise you to use what Simplicity suggests to make it easier to sew.
