What materials did you use? Yellow linen, white batiste, navy lightweight matte satin for tie.

What are you most proud of? I designed the machined design on the collar, and also cut a pattern for the tie I used. The one in the pattern is like a 'string' and I did not think it had much 'punch' for the outfit. So I cut my own tie pattern.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have fun.

Love the stitching on the collar.

The outfit is really precious. You are very talented and meticulous. It is wonderful that you used some of your mom's stash. I always tell my husband if I should pass first to give all my things to someone that enjoys it at least half as much as I do. I am sure she is smiling from the balcony of heaven. I too love the stitching on the collar and the little tie is just the icing on the cake.

Thank you so very much. I do so enjoy making clothing for children. It doesn't require a great deal of fabric and is a great way to use up odds and ends (like those from 'mom's stash'). Being 71 years old, I have had many years to perfect my sewing techniques--not to mention the best teachers in the world, my mother and grandmother. I am so very happy I chose to listen and learn from them. The arts of quilting, heirloom sewing, embroidery, tatting, rug braiding, etc are needlework disciplines I so hope will not be lost to future generations. And you are right, my mother would be so happy all of her precious fabric is being finally utilized.
