What was your inspiration?
I have seen hundreds of dresses in this design for children but almost nothing for adults! I thought it looked so cute and natural so I decided to make it for myself!
What are you most proud of?
Making the pattern from scratch! With a loose fitting garment like this that is not as easy as it sounds! In fact since making the dress pictured I have tweaked it a little more so that it fits slightly closer in the top half of the body so as to give it a slightly more feminine shape.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Go for it! The design lends itself to natural fabrics such as linen, cotton, cheesecloth and so on. I intend to experiment with a few more fabrics soon!
