What materials did you use? Seam ripper!!! Fabric Freedom Hyde Park Patchwork Fabric Collection, batting, freezer paper, Miracle Fabric Sheets for label

What are you most proud of? Finally finishing this as I started it 18 months ago and pieced it together without squaring up each block. (I was new at quilting).. So seam ripper to the rescue, let's say I have learned by my mistakes. But mostly I am proud of hearing that LK said 'oh wow' when she saw it on her bed. I intend to make her a matching pillowcase.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This is such a fun quilt to do as their are so many fabrics to work with, but as I only could get fat quaters in this fabric it was a lot of cutting. I would advise using Jelly Rolls! Oh and I used freezer paper to draw flowers and ironed it in place then fmq the flowers and rip off paper (saw it on pin interest)

Your quilt is beautiful! And what a great idea for your quilting patterns -- that is something I had not thought of. I am going to try that myself!

Thanks Lynn, and yes it is a brilliant and easy way of quilting flowers and so many other things. I will look out for your quilting.

So lovely! Never heard of the freezer paper method of fmq before but now will definitely be giving it a try. Thanks for posting.

I love the subtle colours and the zingy-zaggy pattern, Desna - well done - it's lovely!

Thanks Pat, I love how this one turned out, but it sure was a long time finishing as I didn't know about the importance of squaring up each individual block until after I had sewn it all up!!! But it has been worth all the ripping out, measuring and resewing, just to hear little Lily-Kate say 'Wow!' when she saw it on her bed :)

This is beautiful Desna, and I think Lily-Kate sums it up well with a big WOW! Haven't we learnt so much tho to become confident with a seam ripper LOL... worth it tho!
