What was your inspiration?

I made this afghan because I wanted a large afghan which could be laid on the floor for an infant to play on, and then use as a nap blanket as he or she grows into a toddler. The funny thing is my teenage sister-in-law loved it so much I let her have it. It is big enough to be a lapghan as well as an infant/toddler afghan. Right now it is on the back of my mother-in-law's love seat and it conforms to it perfectly - like a huge vibrant doily! Be creative in color choices as the potential looks for this afghan are as varied as the numbers of yarns available. I have provided the Red Heart brand yarn colors I used for this particular sample - the swatch photos are more accurate to the true coloring of this afghan.

What are you most proud of?

How unique the coloring turned out. I rarely use four yarn colors, but I really liked how this turned out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make a regular round ripple first to learn the general technique, and learn how to make granny squares. I have several basic round ripples that would be good to start with.
