Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Recycled a piece of cardboard from the back of some drawing paper and used white chalk pencil with black and sienna charcoal pencil and some touches of graphite pencil.

Learned so much from this and really need to repeat it several times. Really have enjoyed the classes, Roberto. Thanks so much. Still have a few more of the exercises to finish.

Hi Margo, thank yo for the compliments! Try this exercise: draw the schematic head like the one above, with very faint lines then draw over it the features of a person from life or from a photo, this will help you to see if your schematic drawing is correct and to better memorize the basic proportion of the face.

Roberto, thank you so much. That is a great suggestion. I will give that a try.

Roberto, I tried out your suggestion and entered the finished project in Craftsy's My Selfie contest. Also posted the first six stages here on Craftsy under Selfie in Stages. Had a great time doing it. Now I need to get more practice in judging the width to height ratio when looking at a face.
