Hello zwiegea, Congratulations on posting another drawing. You are justifiably proud of having the correct scale "the success of difference in buildings from front to back." In that regard, you may wish to consider that the tonal structure must also confirm the scale [or apparent sizes of the buildings]. In this perspective course, we strive to have all the primary elements of the the artwork: Line, tone, and chroma harmonized to give the illusion of pictorial space. It would be of benefit to this aim if your darks in the distance, for example, the windows, were not the same value as those in the foreground. [If you have not had a chance you may wish to skip ahead and glance at Lesson 7, Topic 1.] In regards to the Albertian Veil: Well done, you used it correctly and one not only understands the scale of the buildings but the topography of the land as goes from foreground to middleground, especially the undulation of the front path as it goes to the back.

You are good, why did you wait so late in life? I started with acrylics in the '70's when I lived in Terre Haute, IN then. Now I live In Indy and started with watercolor last yr. in the fall and filled up one school notebook with drawing from TV artists from Create 20.3-Bob Ross, Frank Clarke, Jerry Yarnell, SUe Scheewe & Donna Dewberry, and a few on the net I have saved many pics on my phone . I love your picture. I did not even notice the window values on the back buildings. It would be easy with an art gum to lighten them up a tad. It is really a beautiful drawing. I am in the same position in life as you. I am starting back into art after many years of corporate life. I hope my attempts will be as good as yours!
