Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. I posted a pic of my sketch book that I do all my sketches in first. I also posted a pic of my case that I carry with me everywhere along with my sketch book. I used HB, 2B, 4B and 6B pencil. I did use a 2 point perspective in this sketch.I first start out with a light sketch of the whole scene then I go back and start laying in my values. to answer if it is for sale is yes but not at this stage

Is the piece for sale? No

What are you most proud of? Although it is hard to tell in the poor photo, I am happy with the depth I was able to achieve. With that being said I did not achieve the sounds and movement that would bring this piece alive and I intend on redoing this sketch and trying to achieve just that.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I think it is very important to re watch our class videos as well as paying very close attention to the artist that our instructor talks about. I think it is important to look up and study the work of those artist. Let yourself get lost in it, try to feel what the artist was feeling as well as try to find how perspective was achieved. Last I always look at the work of other students and read the comments that Mr. Connors left. I think I learn so much by doing this.

Hello Happypainting, I hope that there are no glitches in the Craftsy format or misunderstanding about how it works. Congratulations on your posts and it is appreciated how much information you are sharing. Do not know how your lack of depth perception will effect your success in this course. For the past several days I looked online for sites that help or improve depth perception. Partly just to understand this unique problem. You know there are many sites and you probably already know this one: http://www.livestrong.com/article/455243-how-do-i-exercise-for-increased-depth-perception/ That being said in this drawing you get a sense of the depth primarily from the road; but, also, from the trees diminishing in scale and the relative values becoming less dark or light and the reduction of contrast and detail. Well done! You have posted a version of this with color on which I will comment soon.
