Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. 2B & 6B pencils, sketch book, drawing is about 5 x 7. This is the same scene as my drawing from lesson 1 but I eliminated a tree or two and rearranged the subjects.

What are you most proud of? I enjoyed drawing.

Hello SistyKay, Congratulations on the improvements made on this drawing. The plane of the patio projects well into space but the chairs, table, and umbrella do not sit well on it. In short, they are at a different perspective. One concern is that although you are to be congratulated on rearranging the elements of the composition you need to do so in perspective. To that end I would recommend that after you place the ground plane make sure that it is projecting the way you wish or need it to. For example, this ground plane projects well; but, it is not projected [tilted] in the same way as the patio in the reference image. This only becomes a concern because the drawing of the table, chairs, and umbrella is in perspective according to the reference image. Last, consider the tonal structure of the background. It needs a general light midtone. Also be mindful not to make the shadow masses as dark as relative shadow masses, for example the umbrella stand, in the foreground.

[criticism continued] All-in-all, a good drawing. Continue to rearrange the elements of the composition but do so in perspective. I look forward to seeing the posting of your next drawing.
