Lesley's Classic Tailored Shirt

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The Classic Tailored Shirt »

Instructions

Take your time and don't be afraid of the seam ripper if the flat felled seams don't turn out right the first time.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Classic

Materials

100% cotton shirting

What was your inspiration?

After making a shirt for my husband (which now seems to be missing from the class projects) I decided to try a blouse for me.

What are you most proud of?

I'm proud of the fact that this shirt turned out really well. Handmade but it doesn't look homemade.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time. Watch the video as often as needed and don't be afraid to ask questions of Pam.

I got it at Fabric.com. It was a last chance fabric so I only paid about $2.49 a yard for it but it's really nice. I wish that I could say that the matching of the pockets was the result of my careful

oopsie... I hit enter too soon... I got lucky on the matching. I COMPLETELY forgot to take that into account while I was cutting out the pieces.
