What materials did you use? All 8ply acrylic 200g mustard (skin) 100g chocolate (mane) only a little bit of the other colours 4mm hook used for the larger Leo, but you can see the stuffing and he is not in proportion. Much better with a 2.5 mm hook.

What are you most proud of? I learnt alot from Leo. I absolutely love DeliciousCrochet.com patterns. They are so well written, I learnt not to second guess Paola, the second Leo is so much better because I had practiced but also because I used a 2.5mm hook. It is much tighter, so you cant see the stuffing, and he is much more in proportion. I am getting requests for Leo from adults!!!!! Leo has proved to the family that I really can crochet!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I found it easier to sew the nose and eyes on once I completed the head, before starting the mane and with no stuffing. This made it easier to get the nose just right, which isnt easy, but you do have to keep note of where the decreases are on the face to sew everything in the right place. Also I assembled the pupil to the iris, then the iris to the eyball and the eyeball to the face. I put a small bit of stuffing in the ears to make them stand up better. I used plastic joints for the arms and legs, they move so much more freely. I used stitch markers to highlight the decreases to use as a guid for showing where the sewing on the legs needs to go.
