lemoyne star trivet

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy workshop:
Lemoyne Star Quilted Trivet »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Cute

Materials

cotton, linen, cotton batting, and insul brite

What was your inspiration?

my apartment was lacking hand made decoration and I thought little pigs would add some whimsy. I also wanted something to protect our sofa table from our candles.

What are you most proud of?

no half square triangles or inset seams!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

cut some extra fabric so you can practice making each quadrant. also if you just want a mini quilt or mug rug, and not a trivet, skip the insul-bright!

I agree, and with a gift of a seasonal teapot, a couple cute cups and spice teabags I'd be in heaven!

For batting that is heat resistant I save my old ironing board pads. When I replace one I wash the padding. It comes clean and gets even tighter and is perfect for trivet or pot holder quilting projects.
