What was your inspiration?

After completing a large quilt top from Gyleen Fitzgerald's Star Tessellation class, I used the leftover cut stars for this small quilt. The center is quilted on the diagonal and I free-motioned flowers in the border. This pattern is a really great stash-buster - the large quilt uses over 150 fabrics. My small quilt measures 40" square.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Lay out the whole quilt if possible or at least two rows ahead of where you are sewing. It is very easy to reverse one piece. Be prepared for some un-sewing!

This is WONDERFUL. I love that your colorations have a strength and touch of unexpected without being brash - perfect balance. And VERY nicely done. Good work! I love your projects.
