Materials

Fabric is "12 Days of Christmas" by Kate Spain for Moda. All materials are 100% cotton

What was your inspiration?

I bought this panel with coordinating fabric last year thinking I would make a table runner and some napkins. When a friend recently bought a new house, I decided it would make a perfect house warming gift that she will be able to use this holiday season.

What are you most proud of?

I added a hanging sleeve to the back of the table runner so that it can also be used as a wall hanging.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a very simple project that can be done entirely by hand (or machine if preferred). The napkins are cut at 16 1/2 inches square and the rolled hem yields a 16 inch square finished napkin. All of the quilting is done by hand and is simple outline of the figures. The narrow borders are quilted on either side to make them pop. When giving a handmade gift I think it is always nice to add a label with information about the fabric, care instructions, when it was made and by whom.
