|Material||Fondant, Royal Icing|
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: This class inspired me to create a finer and more elegant looking cake, by creating details with fondant and by using the airy consistency of royal icing to pipe a simple design on the cake board.
What are you most proud of? I'm quite happy with the final look of the leaf crown around the circumference of the cake. The arrangement remained quite uniform throughout, and proper height was always maintained. However, it helped to create an outline first, as we learned in this class.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Always make sure that you have a clear plan of the look that you want to achieve. Think about it carefully, research more if necessary, watch the class several times, ask questions, and collect all of your tools before you start your project. If you do all that, I think that you will be more likely to meet your own expectations and significantly reduce frustration!
