What materials did you use? Various artisan quilt fabrics from Sew Sisters, I was looking more for a particular colour palette than for specific design elements within the fabric. This quilt is for my daughter, and she loves the family of blues, and wanted a quilt to reflect various shades of blue. To give the quilt a bit of a modern edge, I straight line quilted it in 5/8" increments, and was pleasantly surprised at how it made the blocks come to life. I used invisible thread on the front, and Aurafil White on the back. To honour quilting traditions, there is a humility block in this quilt!

What are you most proud of? This is a big quilt, my first attempt at a large quilt - and it was done on a regular sewing machine. The techniques Wendy taught in the walking foot section of her Free Motion & More course were very, very helpful to me.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Cut carefully, use a small stitch piecing your blocks, and trim well to size before setting up your rows.

Did you find WBB's class covered different things than the Creative Quilting with Your Walking Foot? I have been trying to decide whether to take this class. After you take a lot of courses, it's hard to know whether they overlap too much with what you already took, although I ALWAYS learn something!

I loved Wendy's class - and while there probably is a bit of overlap with some other courses, I find Wendy's approach quite different than many of the other instructors - and I learned a lot and found it triggered a lot of new thinking for me. It is a very different course than Creative Quilting with your Walking Foot (I am in that class as well) - the two course cover very different topics.
