Type of item: Home Decor

Materials

Pink Rose Bud Flannel (Front of Bear) Solid Pink Flannel (Back of Bear) Light Blue Flannel (Eyes) Fleece is used instead of batting

What was your inspiration?

A new niece and a pattern that I hadn't tried yet.

What are you most proud of?

It turned out so cute!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

These blankets really don't need to have the fleece/batting in them, since they are more for decoration than warmth. This was the first of these patterns I've made, have since made 3 more of different animals. The one that turned out the best was made out of flannel with no fleece/batting, using the 1" seam allowance, then instead of clipping the seams to "rag" them, I used pinking shears and trimmed the seams to about 1/4". CAUTION: if made according to the pattern you will have a wash machine FULL of threads after "ragging" the quilt.

Your quilt is wonderful and I am going to use the same idea to create one. With respect to your CAUTION - When making rag quilts or raw edge quilts I always put the quilt into a duvet cover and seal the end up with machine tacking before I put into the washing machine. That way I only have to shake the bits out of the duvet into the garden. Protects the machine and any risk of expensive repair costs.

What a cute idea. I have made so many of these and never thought about using one color on the front and one on the back.

I made a few like this, but never thought to use all one color. Love it.
