Lavender Hexagon Snowflake

Instructions

I found a chipboard snowflake that I liked and traced the shape onto fabric. I then quilted the layered quilt sandwich, hand-painted and swirled the snowflake and quilted the sayings around the edge. Fun project!

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Whimsical, Traditional, Casual, Holiday

Materials

cotton fabrics, batting and threads, Derwent Inktense pencils

What was your inspiration?

The chipboard snowflake with glitter.

What are you most proud of?

The filler swirls that I painted onto the fabric.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Keep it simple! Repetition is relaxing.

Small projects are a great way for me to start. I sure like this snowflake design. Where do you teach? Maybe you could offer a Crafsy class.

Thank you for the compliment! (I am not photogenic!! ) I live near Omaha, NE and teach when invited to guilds and occasionally at a local quilt store. I like small projects too. :)
