What was your inspiration?
Took a quilting workshop at the Center for Arts in Hobbs, NM. This was the project that was taught. The instructor provided all the materials (fabric, dryer lint, photo frame, etc). The pattern was just a hand drawn sketch of a landscape and we basically cut out the fabric pieces of our choice and sewed in place. Once sewn on, I added various trims and used different decorative stitching to emphasis the breaks of the landscape. Dryer lint covered with tulle was used to creat the mountain effect.
What are you most proud of?
That I actually finished it and it turned out pretty good. It was an interesting class and I found I enjoyed it much more than I expected and learned lots of new things that can be used for embellishing on projects.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just go for it....use your imagination and use pictures for inspiration and guides.
