I saw the sample of this quilt and wanted to try to make it myself.

What are you most proud of?

I had never done applique before - it's awesome!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Practice your stitches first and check your placement of pieces before you iron.

I love this, we are moving from the lake and this was just such an inspiration to me to remember the front view. I think I will do something similiar to take with me, thank you for sharing.

This is gorgeous! I would love to have this hanging on my wall. It's perfect and the detail is wonderful. What a great job for your first try at appliqu. Did you hAve a pattern for it?

Yes. The pattern was created by Sue Pritt and it's called Up North. It's available at Log Cabin Fabrics, amongst other stores in NY. Their website is www.logcabinfabrics.com.
