Quilting: Lady

Lady

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Thread Art »

Instructions

With this piece I learned that you should test the Acrylic Fabric Medium before applying to finished project. It really saturated and darkened the fabric, but I think I made it work ;D

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual

Materials

Cotton Fabric, Interfacing, Fusible Fleece, Thread, Coloring Pencils, Acrylic Fabric Medium, White Acrylic Paint

What was your inspiration?

I often call Lady (my 4 year old Collie) my muse. It just made sense to let her be my inspiration on this one :)

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud that I did this piece in one afternoon/evening. I've done a couple before now, including the class tutorial, but never this organized and efficient.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun and try different things! The things I've risked trying have ended up being the better techniques :)

This is fantastic. Not an easy subject to do with all of the various lines and colors and blending of colors. Well done!

She is a beautiful dog. I would like to see her stand out, perhaps a background color that is different than lady's color.

Love how you used the white highlights. She is lovely. I would color the background a different color to let Lady be the focus (if you want to keep the sepia look, maybe just darker? Lovely without, but just a thought.
