What was your inspiration?
I love to sew and quilt and was just delighted by this course.
What are you most proud of?
I really didn't feel confident enough in myself - but Lola's inspiration of "there are no mistakes" Made me smile and very determined to try this. I started out watching the entire course. I got all my materials together and sewed the First Lady with the pearl earring, it really did turn out nice, but I was afraid to mess it up. So I did just a quick one , using muslin on both sides of my quilt sandwich. I thought if I mess up one side I could always try again on the back. Well low and behold "I did it :). I see now where I could or would of done a few things different, but all in all for my first time doing this, I am very happy and can't wait to do the other side.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be afraid, start small, get the feel for what you are doing. I always loved to color as a child, and even with my daughter, still love yo color and draw. This opens all kinds of possibilities with sewing, quilting and now thread art.
