What was your inspiration?

I wanted lace but I also wanted warmth so this slouchy hat has both.

What are you most proud of?

I love how the lace looks so difficult in this pattern but its not. This hat works up quickly and easily.
There are both written instructions and chart to suit your preference.
Repeats are easily remembered but with enough variety to keep you challenged.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Go a needle size smaller if using another yarn that is not a single ply. I also knitted this hat in Berroco Vintage, worsted, and used US 8 for the ribbing and US 9 for the hat. I went a needle size smaller when using Berroco Vintage.

This hat does not need blocking. Just wear it. Its immediate gratification.

You'll need worsted weight yarn. Creative Focus by Rowan may be a good choice. Do swatch to make sure you've got gauge/tension. You may need to go down a needle size.

This hat and scarf combination really rock that yarn! They are perfect together - great job!
