Instructions
This project was completed using instructions & files from Eileen's book. If you decide to make it, I would suggest not piecing the borders until you are ready to add them to the quilt in order to align the corner block sashing strips more accurately.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
Eileen's book is so much fun! There are many projects I want to try.
What are you most proud of?
In my copy of the book some of the trimming measurements are incorrect. I was proud to 'catch' them before I actually cut the pieces - realizing things weren't adding up! People may assume because the embroidery machine is doing the quilting that there is no 'work' in making this quilt but it does take some thought, creativity, and skill to make and assemble the project. It was a lot of fun!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take things one step at a time. Definitely use a design wall or lay out the blocks on a table to get the best contrast between blocks. I used a black & white photo to check values and it helped point out areas to change. I used what little Batik fabric I had on hand & scraps to complete the whole quilt, including off-cuts of batting so it's a great way to use up some stash!
