Instructions

Crisp outlines of cable stitches overlay a lace background. This wrap is named after the semblance of ears of corn in this stitch design, as well as the corn fiber yarn in which it is shown here.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Whimsical, Classic, Traditional, Casual

Materials

Shown in Maizy by Crystal Palace Yarns, 82% Corn Fiber/18% elastic Nylon, 204 yds/50g - 3 balls, color 1012 Meadow Mist.

What was your inspiration?

Normally I would not do fringe on a scarf, but this one called for it I sort of imagined that the long oval shapes that frame the lace eyelets are like ears of corn, and the fringe is like the corn silk of the tassel.

What are you most proud of?

The cables are carried out to each edge of the wrap, preserving the overall flow of the curving lines.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Lovely. And you are correct in adding the fringe. It 'makes' the scarf.
