What was your inspiration?

I was in a small antique shop in Bellville, Tx. looking at a ceramic easter egg trinket box that opened. I think it was supposed to look crocheted. When I returned home, I quickly tossed together a pattern idea and here it is. Not so easy to make but very challenging. This was many years ago when my children were just kids running the neighborhood. I have made hundreds since then.

What are you most proud of?

They sell quite well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

You must be an advanced "Crafter" in order to make these.

What do you use to shape the egg? The egg actually opens and you can put jelly beans/prizes inside. It is more of a trinket box. I use a stryofoam egg shape and the standard glue mix to shape. The mix is a 2:1 ratio (2 parts glue to 1 part water).

How did you shape the eggs? I heard somewhere that you can inflate a balloon and then pop it when it is dry for shaping.
