Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The Perfect Fit Seamless Crazy Lace Cardigan »

Instructions

I began the cape with several rows of straight knitting and then divided as for a neck down cardigan until over the shoulder area (using the dress dummy as a guide), and then using the lacey pattern for the remainder. I picked up 6 stitches each side of the neck band for the knitted ties. There was no sewing, only a few loose threads to hide.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Charity

Style: Classic

Materials

I used Lion Brand Yarn, Baby Soft, Sportweight, as it is to be donated for a nursing home patient.

What was your inspiration?

The Perfect Fit Seamless Crazy Lace Cardigan was the inspiration for this cape. I have made several of different plain styles, never used a lace pattern before, thinking it would take too long or be too difficult. But was able to make this in about two weeks.

Looks soft and pretty. Nice alternative to the original pattern. :)

What a great idea! I would never have thought of that. I might do a capelet later too. Very pretty.
