Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: This is a spice cake with swiss meringue buttercream and vanilla fondant. The rose is made from gumpaste.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I made all the lace cutouts from fondant and then covered them with plastic wrap a day or so before the project. It made the assembly of the cake much faster.

Your cake is just beautiful!!!May I ask regarding the lace cut outs, did you use a mold? Or would you explain what you used? Thanks so Much!

I used the molds that Marina suggests - http://www.makeyourownmolds.com/enhanced-lace-mold It was such a fun cake to make

I love this cake! Are those all pressed into fondant or did you free scole some of the lace?

Thanks - some of the lace is done with by hand - it was the cake I made for my Father's 87th birthday. I wanted to try some new techniques and this was a huge gathering of family so this is what he got. LOL
