What was your inspiration?
Once I started making these berets I couldn't stop. (they work up so quickly!) So I made one in each color that Susan at Spinning Bunny had sent me. In the photo of the 4 berets, the colors from lower right to left are Bark, Sunrise, Blueberry Pie and Jeans.
What are you most proud of?
Detailed instructions are included for a type of circular center start that can help you practice for actual doilies you might want to make later in lighter weight threads and smaller needles.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Finished diameter of crown is 10 - 11 inches depending on size of dinner plate used for blocking. Requires 125 yards fingering weight yarn and knitting needles sizes US 3 through 6 (3.25 - 4 mm). Pattern includes charted and written stitch instructions, as well as detailed blocking instructions with photos.
