Category: Home & Garden

Type of item: Functional

For: Garden

Style: Traditional, Classic

1,156 4" x 8" bricks

What was your inspiration?

This 7-circuit, 50 labyrinth was inspired by the NYC Battery Park Labyrinth of Contemplation, a place of pilgrimage providing all visitors with the opportunity of actively offering respect through walking the path.

What are you most proud of?

I got it done! It took two months and the land needed to be cleared first. the bricks were laid by hand. No machinery was used in this project. It is a sacred space for walking, meditating and centering yourself.

It was fun, but I'm not going to tell you it was easy. If someone has a flat space, no shrubbery to remove, it would be a whole lot easier. I did it as part of my sound therapy practice. My patients use it before or after treatments. Walking a labyrinth is very meditative, peaceful and calming so it is very conducive to my work. Thank you for commenting.
