What materials did you use? This was a raw wool I received for free. I cleaned, picked, and carded. I used good ole Kool-aid to dye it. I dyed the roving before spinning. I used grape, mixed berry and lemon/lime. I then decided to make a wonderful art yarn. I think it turned out lovely. this was my first time dying wool.

What are you most proud of? I love the way the look on peoples faces when they see how bright and vibrant they are. they love the colors.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This technique works with spun yarn or roving.Think about color combinations. What colors would look good together. Don't use too many colors in a single pot, or you'll end up with muddy looking colors. And make sure you rinse your wool/yarn well. I let mine dry about 24hrs before spinning. Don't hang in the sun, hang on hanger in bathroom or in the shade. You can also lay it flat, but remember it needs to have air circulation underneath to dry properly.
