Box Stitch Scarf

Instructions

Cast on 30. First stitch on each edge is always a knit stitch. Box pattern alternates 2 stitches knit, and 2 stitches purl. On the reverse side you would knit the knit and purl the purl. Box is about 5 rows and then the pattern switches.
In other words to switch the pattern and began a different box you would knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches.

What was your inspiration?

Getting ready for this Holiday Season (Christmas 2011). My Needle Escapades this winter is a slew of wool scarves. To make them each special, I found different stitch patterns from an on-line knit stitch dictionary (guide).

What are you most proud of?

The way this scarf turned out. This was the first time I worked with this stitch.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Find a stitch you want to master. Cast on desired number of stitches for the width you want and then keep going.
