Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional, Eco-Friendly, Classic, Romantic

Materials

Shown in "chained" gold metallic yarn of lurex and polyester.

What was your inspiration?

Simple knitted lace patterns and shiny thread/yarns to make into beautiful, and not-to-be-forgotten, adornments for gift packages.

What are you most proud of?

I hope to inspire you to make ribbons in your craft of choice that will not be thrown away, but instead be used for many years in delightfully creative ways to decorate around the house, etc.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I usually use lace weight or fingering weight yarn for these ribbons, although I have seen people who have made beautiful ones in heavier weight yarns (just adjust your needle size accordingly). Approximately 10 yards of yarn is enough to make a 24" Stairway ribbon or 36" Picot Loops ribbon for a small gift box. Allow more yarn for larger gifts. Size US 2 / 2.75 mm needles suggested.
