In the instructions, for the 2nd row, it says incl 1 st in next st. Does that mean make a stitch or cast on 1 stitch? I'm a new knitter and not sure what that means.

increase a stitch. Begin as to knit a stitch, yarn over, pull loop through and put loop onto left hand needle. That makes and increase.I apologize for typo.

Sorry I took so long to answer you Karmeh. To increase a stitch you put right needle into stitch on left needle just as you would to knit a stitch and you yarn over, pull stitch through, then slip what remains from left needle onto the right. You have now increased a stitch. I hope that helps.

The pattern for the dish cloths are in my Craftsy pattern store. If you have never knitted before, you can learn the basic knitting stitch by using a You Tube video for free, online or you can get free step by step instructions for knitting for free online.
