cast on 40 stitches (or as many as you need for the cushion width), knit plain for a few lines and change wool to a different colour. Use as many or as few as you feel like! What advice would you give someone starting this project?

have fun, use colours which go well together, and don't be scared to try different wools, i used chunky, and double knit with two strands at once to get the right weight.

as many as you want. there's no real pattern here just change when you want and knit enough to go round your cushion pad. I useddouble knit doubled to make it heavy enough to knit with the chunky wool. And 5 changes of colours. Does that help?
