What was your inspiration?

My oldest son was kind enough to purchase me a serger for Christmas because I have been wanting to purchase one for a very long time, so that I could get a more professional look on the garments and other items that I sew. It was/is the best gift ever. I really don't know how I have gone through so many years of sewing without owning one before this.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud that I mastered the flatlock stitch with this project. The key, for me, is to remember to adjust the tension and stitch length based on fabric type.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Even if you don't wear scarves, I suggest you do this project anyway. It will give you the opportunity to perfect the flatlock stitch and you can keep your finished project in your gift stash, for when you need a last minute gift for someone. Depending on the fabrics that you choose, you could make it unisex, so you would always be ready with a gift.

It looks so cozy, Lizzy! That's a great idea to keep one in your "gift stash". I'm glad to hear you mastered flatlocking! :)
