What was your inspiration?
My main inspiration for this particluar project was my youngest granddaughter, Kennedy Elizabeth. She is just the type who would want to travel "over the rainbow" but would always know that "there's no place like home!"
What are you most proud of?
I am proud that I am able to carry on the knitting and crocheting passed down to me by my mother and especially my grandmother. It was my grandmother who spent all those hours sitting with me, watching and so patiently correcting the mistakes I made. Every item I make has a special bit of my "Hami" worked into it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Easy project! My main concern was to make sure the buttons were securely attached to prevent any possibility of choking. The pattern actually includes buttonholes for the buttons but I omitted those. The pattern also mentions omitting the buttons but I liked the contrast of the red and white. If you like, you could knit or crochet a button.
