What are you most proud of? The recipient loves the dress and it was so easy I can make more at a moments notice. Also proud that i didn't purchase new fabric to make it ... I went to the stash!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have fun, be creative, play with pattern and color. It's so easy to make because the tutorial is well written.

Hi Jill, has this little lady got the cute coat too...... No wonder she has such a big grin on her face. Gorgeous both the little lady and the dress! I want one!

awww thank you! no she wasn't the one who got (either) of the pink coats - i made her a hooded shearling instead. She just got into her dress phase. Before a few months ago she would only wear dresses if they had matching leggings. I'm not sure she'd like the Cocktail Coat very much yet - maybe in a few years. She's quite a dare-devildon't let the smile fool you! She will jump off a roof if you don't watch her every second! She jumped off a second story deck when she was 2 i thought i was going to die before she hit the ground. she just stood up and said "I'm ok - I'm fine It's ok. don't worry!" and she had THAT smile on her face. I definitely will not be making her any capes in the near future though! Thanks for the sweet comments!

Awww.. thank you Purdy! No, she didn't get (either) of the pink coats. I made her a hooded shearling instead. She is quite a dare-devil, I'm not sure she'd like the Cocktail Coat yet. Don't let her smile fool you - it's the same smile she flashed at me when she was 2 and jumped off a 2nd story deck; as i was panicking and praying she wouldn't kill herself, she just stood up and said "Im ok - I''m fine. Don't worry!" and gave me a chuckle and flashed that heart melting grin at me. I can say one thing - i will NOT be making her any capes in the near future lol! Thanks for the sweet comments :)

lol.it's a miracle we "grown ups" make it through the toddler years in one piece! She cut her palm wide open while she was at the stable with her dad doing whatever they do with the horse blood everywhere. She wrapped up her hand in a rag and tried to hide it from him. She said "it doesn't hurt, daddy; i'm fine!" She will never admit something she's done caused pain, lest she be told she should never do that again if she doesn't want to get hurt. Ahhhhhh.kids!
