Materials

Bouton D'Or 100% fine merino wool for the knit romper, and double knit fabric for the little shirt

What was your inspiration?

Knitting this for yarn shop model. I like baby garments in unusual colors and this grey could be boy or girl, depending upon the under shirt. It is buttery soft as would be expected with this vegetable dyed extra fine wool from France.

What are you most proud of?

Finding a knit print that matched the grey romper.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sewing tiny garments is harder for me than making a ball gown with boning! I'd advise you to buy high quality fibers if you are knitting for babies. They may be expensive, but the hand, softness, and unique colors and patterns are well worth the cost of the yarn. Anny Blatt and Bouton D'Or do a fabulous job with their yarn and patterns.
