Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing With Knits: 5 Wardrobe Essentials »

Instructions

Don't be afraid to change up the pattern a bit. I like to make things my own so I rarely, if ever follow the exact pattern.

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Funky, Mod, Cute, Whimsical

Materials

cotton/spandex for the cuffs and band and regular serger thread.

What was your inspiration?

If you have been following me, you will already know this, but my real inspiration is to make a nice wardrobe for myself. I haven't had any new clothes for many years, so I am thinking it is time for me to have some :-)

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud that these actually fit and that I was able to put the bands and cuff on without any issues.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Like I keep saying, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Take the pattern and make it your own. You won't be sorry that you did :-)

P.S. I forgot to check the difficulty box and don't know how to get it back. I would rate this project as super easy :-)

Oh my, these are so cute! Like little girl's clothes for grown ups. Love that! How was sewing with spandex? Any different than sewing with regular jersey knit?

Thank you Catja. I love these. They are so comfortable, and they make me feel younger too. This fabric is a little thinner than regular jersey knit, but sewing with it was a breeze.

Thank you azpotato. I have already had them on. They are so much more comfortable that I thought they would be. They will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe this summer. And I will definitely be making more of them :-)
