What was your inspiration?
Kitty Socks pattern from the book Kitty Knits features a row of kitty-cat heads encircling your ankles between sections of knitted gingham checks. Made in DK weight yarn, these socks are warm enough for outdoor wear but better for pampering your toes while reading in bed.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't skip the gauge swatch, remembering you might need a larger needle to get gauge on the colorwork area. Because colorwork is not stretchy, you want to make sure to make a large enough size to fit over your heel.
