What materials did you use? Heavy cotton fashion fabric, silk lining, cording with tape, tassels, eye hooks, plastic rings (3/4"), 1" x 2" x window width wood, staples or nails. cotton twine

What are you most proud of? The folds came out perfect and the scallops on the bottom were a last minute decision which added a great subtle detail.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Know your fabric and triple measure everything! Remember that you lose length every time you sew a pleat.

How did you decide the measurements for the slats/dowels so the casings would be snug but not too tight? And how did you decide what spacings between the slats/dowels would be so the drawn up shade didn't have too many folds or too big folds?

Oops it sent too fast. I used a very narrow pleat no dowels ( a 1/4 inch) as I want it to look pretty from both sides. As for the width between I used the fabric as my best guide. I didn't want to interrupt the design of the print if I didn't have to. I also worked with the pleats prior to sewing anything to make sure I like the way they fell. Hope this helps:)
